Born in 1972 in Aix en Provence, in a family of artists and santonniers, clay and modeling are omnipresent from childhood. Long scientific studies in immunology will take her away from sculpture, but it will only be to bring her back with more force, conviction and maturity.
Clay is the privileged material towards which her family origins spontaneously guided her. The choice to keep it then became a desire to remain linked to the origins of humanity. The human has collected a little damp clay in his hands and has been able to give it form and meaning. He made usual objects as well as symbols of his spirituality. The initial gesture, renewed and transmitted carries with it all the memory of Humans.
Her creations have a power of expression which places them in a unique universe. They are inspired by Humanity in his diversity, its beauty, its suffering, by the force of life which resides in every being.
In the works where Françoise Ugolini projects us with all her sensitivity, we find a most authentic gesture that takes root in the very privacy of each of us.
